Gerhardt Lorist
Manager

Gerhardt has an absolute passion for the bush. After his schooling in Pretoria and some travels abroad, he qualified and worked as a Trails ranger / Field guide in the Kruger National Park. Through the years his passion and love for the natural bird life led him to run his own birding safari company for a few years. He also got involved in surveying the final component in a 3 year university study in mapping the biodiversity of one of South Africa’s Nature reserves. The research component led him to manage a volunteer/student based ecological research programme in the Welgevonden Game reserve in the Waterberg.

As a family man, the management of a single property appealed to him not only to put into practice all his experience as an ecologist and conservationist but also to be able to raise his two daughters in the bush.
